CARDET is extremely honoured to have been given the opportunity to participate in the Pan European Congress on Global Education in Strasbourg, organised by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, on 31 May – 1 June.

Our organisation, that serves as Cyprus’ National Coordinator in the North-South Centre Global Education Network, was represented by CARDET’s Head of the Education Unit, Dr Panagiotis Kosmas, who took part in the panel discussion on ‘Defining Global Education national strategies/priorities/processes through stakeholder approach'.

The Congress brought together a diverse set of experts, stakeholders and practitioners in global education featuring high quality thought-provoking and informative speeches and presentations.

Through a collaborative approach, the Pan European Congress on Global Education aimed to facilitate a peer learning process leading to a set of strategic recommendations that promote the coordination of global education advocacy, capacity-building and awareness-raising at local and national levels and within the European and international institutions. It built on the outcomes of the present cycle of the capacity-building and advocacy activities of the Council of Europe and European Union joint programme iLEGEND II Intercultural Learning Exchange through Global Education, Networking and Dialogue (2019-2022), and it is in line with the priorities of the Council of Europe Education department.
